Our thoughts dictate our actions

Don't worry be happy – Bobby Mcferrin It really is true that our thoughts control our actions and mindset. We have the ability to not allow our thoughts to dictate our behavior. This takes discipline, awareness and self control. In my experience, an excellent practice to teach you these traits is meditation. You will learn to look within and own your breathe and the present moment, while learning to be aware of your thoughts through observation and nonreaction. Soon you will notice how much more patient and understanding you've become in response to things that previously might have triggered an out of control emotional reaction. This type of growth will help you to be more tolerant and accepting of what the universe puts in front of you. You will reduce anxiety you may have had and this will allow you to reopen your heart and heal any unhealed traumas you are still carrying with you. The release of these toxic energies will create a flood of emotions which are a sign that you are healing and connecting with your inner truth. This can be a frustrating and overwhelming stage, but once you reach the other side, life becomes more meaningful, peaceful and what matters the most becomes the focus of all your energy. It's a difficult but necessary journey that will have you smiling with gratitude for the opportunity to evolve into the greatest version of yourself. We don’t always get what we want

We all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and be willing to accept when mistakes are made. If we allow mistreatment to continue, then we are dishonoring our self-worth. Respect starts within and is projected outward onto those you encounter. Some may choose to test your boundaries and discover that you don't have any. It's up to you to stand up for yourself and speak your truth with an open heart in a loving manner. You might have to accept that this person no longer serves a purpose in your life and it's time to move on. Reflect on if this person empowers you to be yourself and supports you with love and non judgment. If you suspect you are being used or manipulated, don't delay and communicate how this is unacceptable. Accept that they are in a different place energetically and you are no longer aligned. Release them with love and empathy and be grateful for the opportunity to share energy and space with them. Refocus your energy on doing what's best and true to your heart and take the time you need to grieve the loss of this person in your life. Learn to be alone and content until you are ready to receive who is meant for the next chapter. Step into your fear

Learn to love yourself by healing

Happiness is a choice

What is life trying to teach you?

What are you grateful for today?

Take that first step

We are all doing the best we can

Once you understand and accept that everyone is doing the best they can with who they have been conditioned to be and the tools they've been provided, what others say or do will affect you less. You choose to allow your ego to react to another persons actions and by choosing not to react or speaking your truth and setting loving boundaries, you learn to be more empathetic and authentic. Respect yourself first and others will in most cases respect you in return. Never accept being mistreated, but simply remove yourself from that person or situation. Understand that everyone has not healed their traumas and are projecting those hurts onto anyone in their path. Be an example of how others should treat each other and always speak your truth. Those that are meant to be in your life will remain and those who are not should be allowed to move on. Detach yourself from all people, places and things in order to allow life to flow naturally. You will be more accepting that life happens for you in order to help you grow into the greatest version of yourself. 16 months sober

View this post on Instagram

My sobriety has been such a blessing and I'm beyond grateful for those who have been supporting me this last 16 months. I'd like to give a shout out to my family and friends who have been by my side to listen and support me any way I needed. Sobriety begins with deciding to live your life on purpose and to stop medicating your anxiety, fear and traumas with drugs and alcohol. Having a support system is a must and there are AA groups across the world that meet daily. Accepting your past mistakes takes courage but a necessary step in the process. Learning to live in the present moment will keep you grounded and focused on giving your energy to what's right in front of you. You will learn to release your traumas and start healing and discover emotions you never knew existed inside of you. The road to recovery is extremely difficult but anyone is capable with the right mindset, support system and breaking down your recovery into bite size steps. Your life will forever be changed once you decide to take the first step and admit you are powerless to the drugs or alcohol. The rest is up to you, the universe or higher power and your daily disciplined commitment to becoming the greatest sober version of you. Life truly is better sober. If you need support, guidance or someone to simply listen, send me a DM and let's start the conversation which could lead you on your own journey to becoming the greatest version of you!
